A few moments later, Daisy sat on her bed, wondering what the hell she had just done. Was this the dumbest thing she had ever agreed to? She took a few deep breaths to calm down, before turning her mind to how she was going to tell Dan the news.

A soft tap at the door interrupted her reverie. Her brother poked his head around the door. “Oh Royce, thank goodness it’s you! Come in and close the door!” she said, gesturing to the bed next to her.

Royce sat down and looked worriedly at his sister. “Are you really sure you are ok with this?” he asked, reaching out to squeeze Daisy’s hand.

“Nope!” she replied honestly, her eyes brimming with tears. “I don’t really know at all. I know this is a great opportunity for AB. And we can help Mum and Dad today. And I know this could be so good for my shop and for us as a family, if I can make a good sale out of it. But it feels weird. And I know Dan is going to be so hurt by all of this…” Daisy trailed off, lost in thought for a moment.

“Daisy, listen. I know I said a lot of things out there. But I just want you to know that no matter what you choose and no matter whether that decision turns out to be the best or the worst thing for you to do, I’ll always be here for you. And although it is great and amazing that you are considering Mum and Dad, and AB’s career and Dan’s feelings right now, you have to do what is right for you.”

Royce reached out to hug his sister tight.

“I love you, kiddo. You are the best middle sister a guy could ask for. Please just promise me you will make this decision based on what you want. Based on what you want to do.”

As Royce left the room, Daisy closed her eyes for a moment, thinking about Royce’s advice. Perhaps it was time to make a choice. As soon as she thought it, she smiled, feeling like a weight had been lifted.

Ok then. Let’s get this over with.
